SEATTLE RESIDENCE 2
Neighbors to Seattle Residence #1, this house was also a century old with zero updates yet enjoyed a beautiful view of Lake Washington. With it's small footprint on a steep slope, we were challenged to open up the spaces without expanding out. This was accomplished by replacing all finishes, simplifying circulation and opening up to light and views. The deck rail pickets were replaced with stainless steel cable railing to become transparent. To simplify and rid the spaces of clutter, we have many built in cabinets, mostly painted wall color to blend in and not look cabinet heavy. Floating furniture, hutch and island are the only stained wood pieces so that the small footprint still feels light, bright and open. The kitchen hood is minimal yet powerful so that it does not inhibit ones view.
