As an architect, artist, and environmentalist, my work passion is to re-use homes finding what is good and re-working the rest to make the whole home much better.  The owner's lifestyles (activities, budget & tastes), characteristics of the site (slope, views, light), and opportunities of the existing house (function, structure, style) are studied and selectively worked together to create an art piece for one to hopefully enjoy peace, health and happiness in.

Debbi Cleary

architect, interior designer & owner

I am a WA state licensed architect with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from WSU.  From 1996 - 2006, I gained residential experience spanning from high-end architects (Stuart Silk and Gelotte Hommas) to affordable builders so that I could combine beautiful designs & details with mindful efficiency.  In 2006, Cleary Design Studio was established to focus on residential remodels and new construction with mid size budgets ($200,000 to $2,000,000).

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

- Jay R. (owner of Bellevue Residence)

“We live on an old street dominated by new houses (the wild tear-down-build-up process was featured on KOMO news), and everyone who sees our house assumes it's another new one, but in fact it is a remodel designed by Cleary Design Studio.  Debbi did a great job of blending the old and new parts so that they are indistinguishable.   She created a new living space for us that was both exactly what we wanted and far better than we could have imagined.”
